Been too cold and wet

But, on the other hand, I was surprised quite a few weeks ago by some little broad beans and garlic. So even when you think the allotment is dormant, something is stirring...

My garlic has started coming up too. It's so exciting and made me very glad I did actually plant some in October. It fact it got me so enthusiastic that I planted the rest of it - I thought I was far too late but the Wiggly Wigglers podcast a week or so ago mentioned planting garlic as something you can be doing now so it seemed like it was worth a shot. I planted some in smaller pots and if it does come up I'm going to give it to friends to grow on in an effort to get them excited about growing stuff too.

I also finally planted the daffodil, snowflower and tulip bulbs I bought in October and had left sitting in the car since. Two months later than the latest you're supposed to plant them but they were growing in the car so again it seemed like it might be worth a shot. At worst I figure I've added some more organic matter to the front garden and at best I'll have late spring flowers.
