Watering

I might get tired of this, but at the moment, every other day I'm lugging this can up and down to water the potatoes, rhubarb and "harry" the horseradish. Not my idea to name harry, but still.

I found the sign that said, "free 'orse poo" again and grabbed myself three tubs full. Now I want to buy another tub and go back soon! I looked on with envy as a people carrier full of family pulled up, and they started to fill their trailor. Good stuff.

Oh what a lovely photo Wendy! I was reading about Ollas today which are clay pots which you bury in the ground near your veges. They collect rain water which then drains through the clay and slowly waters the plants. Great idea! Katy xx

Thank you :-) I suppose it must look typically English as well - hadn't realised. I love using this can, perhaps its that old, traditional designs are sometimes the best.

I've heard Gardeners Question Time suggest burying plastic bottles, upside down with the bottoms cut off with the same idea - that you water, or it rains, and the water gradually waters the plants at the roots where they need it...
